Divisions

This competition will have 4 divisions:

  • Compund Women (CW)
  • Compund Men (CM)
  • Recurve Women (RW)
  • Recurve Men (RM)
  • Nonsight (NS)*

*Nonsight class are open for longbow and barebow, according to World Archery applicable rules. Women and men compete together in the same Nonsight class.

Shooting distance are 18 meter.

40 cm vertical triple target faces will be used in division CW, CM, RW and RM.

Nonsight class can either shoot 40 cm single target face or 40 cm vertical tripel target face.

Qualification

Qualification is 2 rounds of 30 arrows.

The Arena Challenge

The best 24 archers in each division will advance to group shooting system.

First round will be 6 groups of 4 archers. Each archer will have one match against the other three archers in the same group. The two best archers from each of the 6 groups will advance to second round of group shooting.

Second round will be 3 groups of 4 archers. Each archer will shoot one match against the other three archers in the same group. The two best archers from each of the three groups will advance to the quarter finals.

Wildcards: The two archers with the highest scoring, out of three archers at third place in each group, will get a wildcard.

Quarter final is 4 head to head matches. Winner will advance to the semifinals, looser will end their tournament.

For quartar final, there will be made a new ranking white priority: First highest match point and second highest scoring, based on results from second round of The Arena Challenge. Wildcard-archers will rank 7th or 8th depending on score.

 

Semi final is 2 head to head matches. Winner will enter the gold medal match, looser will shoot for bronze.

The Arena final. The gold and bronze medal match will take place in The Arena. 

 

Matchplay and result description

The 24 best archers, who will enter The Arena Challenge, will be separated in 6 groups of 4 archers. Each archer in a group will have one match against each other in the same group.

Each group will have a group board, which will be updated after each match. Name, result and the field number will be shown on the board. Each archer will get their own scorecard for every round of group shooting.

Recurve and Nonsight match description:

Recurve and Nonsight will shoot the regularly set-point-system 2 points for winning, 1 point to split and 0 points for losing a set. The match will continue to 10 set-points, there will be 15 arrows in each match.

After one match, archers will get match points, 2 points for winning, 1 point to split and 0 points for losing a match. Both match- and set-points will be added to the result board.

When the result is updated, archers will get a new target assignment on the result board. New matches can begin shortly. Figure example 1 is prepared for match nr. 2.

 

After match number 2. Both match- and set-point will be added with points from the previous match round like figure example 2, before the last target assignment.

When the group shooting is over and if there are tied scores on match and set points. The arrow by arrow score will be used to decide ranking in the group, highest score will get the best rank.

 

Compund match description:

Compund will shoot regularly 15-arrows match system. Archers will get 2 points for winning, 1 point for split and 0 points for losing a match. Both match points and scoring will be added to the result board.

When the result is updated, archers will get a new target assignment at the result board. New matches can begin shortly. Figure example 3 is prepared for match nr. 2.

 

After match number 2. Both match point and scoring will be multiplied with points from the previous match round like figure example 4, before the last change of target assignment.

When the group shooting is over and if there is tied match point score. The arrow by arrow score will be used to decide ranking in the group, highest score will get the best rank.

 

 

The Second Challenge

Archers who did not make it to The Arena Challenge, can compete in The Second Challenge in their respective division (CW, CM, RW, RM).

Second Challenge Elimination: All competitors will shoot 4 ends of 3 arrows. The best 24 archers in each division will advance to the second challenge final-run. All three arrow ends in the Second Challenge will have 90 second shooting time. 70 second green light and 20 second yellow light.

Second Challenge Final-run

First round: Each archer will shoot 1 end of 3 arrows for a total of 5 counting ends. The 18 best will continue to the second round.

Second round: Each archer will shoot 1 end of 3 arrows for a total of 6 counting ends. The best 12 archers will continue to the third round.

Third round: Each archer will shoot 1 end of 3 arrows for a total of 7 counting ends. The best 6 archers will advance to the Second Challenge Final

Second Challenge Final: 6 archers in each division will shoot another end of 3 arrows for a total of 8 counting ends. The final scoring after 8 ends, will decide ranking of the top 6 spots.

In the complete result book, each archer will be ranked based on the score in the completed second challenge. All tie scores in the Second Challenge will be decided on basis of highest qualification ranking.
